Abstract

Livestock disease is needed to be watched out because they are closely related to the provision of safe and healthy food sources for consumption. The objectives of this study are: (1) to study the types of zoonotic diseases that can trigger a production failure; (2) find ways to prevent and overcome various diseases so that food production from livestock is not disturbed and safe for consumption. The study method used is descriptive by observing secondary data coupled with the latest warm events and news related to livestock diseases and food security from livestock. Some diseases to watch out for include: mad cow, mouth and nail disease, tubercullosis, inflammation of the thighs, avian influenza, foodborne diseases, contamination of food ingredients, falsification of food ingredients and follow-up diseases. Conclusion: (1) Of the 25 types of strategic infectious animal diseases identified, there are several types of which can pose a danger to human health that is exposed either through direct contact with patients, through food consumed, or through inhaled air and / or direct contact with sick animals, infected or dead. In addition, post-floods can trigger diseases such as those in Lamongan and Bojonegoro; including: Helminthiasis, Antrax, Rabies, Brucellosis, HPAI (bird flu). Stall placement that is away from housing is an absolute thing that must be obeyed so that there is no cross-contamination; and disrupt human health. Currently a very deadly disease in a short time is the HPAI group which causes mass deaths in poultry and infected humans. (2) The way to prevent and overcome various diseases so that food production from livestock is not disturbed is to always use certified superior seeds (if any) and apply good breeding methods, use healthy feed, and strictly apply biosecurity so that the products are safe for consumption.
